November 2011 - Anti-Bullying WeekNovember sees the return of anti-bullying week. And when bullying affects almost 20,000 children each year it is no surprise that we need anti-bullying week to help stop this figure getting bigger – this is more than double the figure from 10 years ago! Due to social networking sites, bullies can now follow their victims into their homes and continue bullying anonymously. With more and more children self-harming and attempting suicide from the result of bullying, it seems that resolving the issue of bullying is a losing battle. Anti-bullying week will help raise awareness and be the campaign of victims in a bid to stop bullying.
Kidscape, who were the first established charity dedicated to specifically preventing bullying, are the main charity involved in anti-bullying week. They provide a help line for children who need to talk to someone and have given people the chance to get involved!
Here at Need2know, we have decided to support anti-bullying week and give £1 from every copy of Bullying – A Parent's Guide to Kidscape. The book is perfect for anyone who is or has been affected by bullying, offering a supportive, informative and helpful hand for victims, parents of victims and teachers.
For every copy of Bullying – A Parent's Guide purchased through our website, our wholesalers and over the telephone, we will donate £1 to Kidscape so they can continue to do an amazing job of helping these powerless victims.
