Author information

Sara Pascoe works as a clinical psychologist and writer. She’s had opportunities in a number of facets of psychology, and has always maintained clinical practice. Her work in neuroscience included studies about how the emotional environment, nutrients, and alcohol affect the developing and adult brain, and studies on schizophrenia.

Her public policy work in Education and Mental Health took her to Washington DC. Her clinical work includes work in psychiatric hospitals, prisons, specialist schools, and out-patient treatment with adults, children, couples and families. Much of her current work is helping people recover from trauma and mistreatment. The sum total of her work has made her passionate about disseminating the rich scientific information about our minds and brains to as wide an audience as possible, so everyone can enjoy the health benefits this information allows. She spent most of her life in various parts of the US, and now lives happily with her family in Bournemouth, Dorset UK
