What is the inspiration behind Need2Know?
Need2Know aims to provide straightforward, essential information in the key areas young people, parents, teachers, carers and professionals need to know about.
How many days should I expect for delivery?
Orders for printed books are normally despatched within five working days. Pre-publication orders will be despatched five to seven working days from the publication date (unless already in stock). Orders are despatched by Royal Mail first/second class, or courier (for parcels of six and more titles) to UK addresses. Airmail or courier to overseas. E-books: a link to download your e-book will appear once your transaction has gone through, on the ‘Transaction Results’ page.
What are the postage and packing charges?
The p&p charge is £2.50 per order. If you order a selection of books where some are available and some are not yet published, you will only be charged once for p&p.
If I don’t want to purchase my book through the online shop, what can I do?
If you don’t want to place your order over the internet via Paypal or credit/debit card (sagepay), you can call Need2Know on 01733 898103 or email sales@n2kbooks.com. If you require a receipt, please let us know when you make your purchase.
Can we use the online shop if we are a school or organisation?
You can purchase the books through the shop, but if you want to send a purchase order and be invoiced, call Need2Know on 01733 898103 or send your order details to sales@n2kbooks.com. This can also be arranged for e-books - simply give us a call, and we can arrange an invoiced order. When requesting an invoice, you must send us a purchase order number to quote if this is the policy of your finance department. This is your responsibility when making the order.
If you pay online and require a receipt, please email us once you have completed your purchase and we can arrange for a receipt to be sent with your book, or through the post if you’ve purchased an e-book.
Can I get a refund?
All printed books purchased from Need2Know are covered by a 28 day money back guarantee. If, for any reason, you are not happy with your purchase, simply return it to us in mint condition for a refund. Likewise if the product is damaged then you can return it to us for an exchange or refund. No refund option is available for e-books.
What am I allowed to do with my e-book?
A link to download your e-book will appear once you reach the ‘Transaction Results’ page. If you have any problems downloading your e-book, please contact us immediately and we will be in touch as soon as possible.
The e-books are downloaded as pdfs, which are made in Adobe Acrobat 7.0; however, they are compatible with any version down to 5.0. You can download your e-book to your computer for single, personal use, but you are not permitted to print or forward as an attachment. The e-books are in greyscale.
By purchasing an e-book from Need2Know, you are agreeing not to reproduce, transmit, make available, adapt, modify, frame (by whatever means), link to, forward, sell, create derivative works based upon, distribute, disseminate, publish, sublicense, or in any way breech the copyright held by the copyright (c) owner – the Need2Know author.

Do you accept author proposals?
Need2Know encourages new authors to submit work that provides advice and information on real life issues. Each book is between 20,000 and 25,000 words, and is published in soft back format. The timescale involved in writing a book is 10 weeks to complete the manuscript, 1 month for alterations and then the book is complete. An advance of £250 will be paid on commission of the manuscript and another £250 also on publication; thereafter royalties on sales will be paid. Please see the ‘Guidelines’ section for further details.
