Books in Large Print in Demand
With over two million people living with sight problems, the demand for books in a range of formats is growing, according to the RNIB.
To help meet this demand, book publishers Need2Know is unveiling plans to produce big print versions of all of its books with audio, Daisy and Braille versions coming in the near future.
Choice of Books in Large Print is Restricted
October is Blindness Awareness month and World Sight day is on the 14th October. To help raise awareness and to show their support for the 4% of the population who are blind or vision impaired, Need2Know is launching all of their books in large print.
Ian Walton, Managing Director of Need2Know says,
‘Even though book publishers are slowly making books available in large print, there is still a restricted choice. This, together with the fact the RNIB can only transcribe and produce a small proportion of books in alternative formats each year makes it even more imperative for publishers to start offering alternative formats.’
Adapting to Fit Customers’ Needs
The books in large print offered by Need2Know will be set in a font size of 16 point and will be available to purchase on site over the next few weeks.
If any customers have any other requirements or suggestions, please contact the Need2Know Office on 01733 898103.
