Cancer is a preventable disease and to raise awareness and encourage Thursday 4 February 2010 is World Cancer Day. The UICC (International Union Against Cancer) want to focus on the things we can all do to prevent cancer:
Here at Need2Know we have published Cervical Cancer – The Essential Guide, the author Mary Lunnen is a survivor of cervical cancer and urges people to attend their cervical screening appointments:
‘If my cancer had not been detected quite early through a routine cervical screening appointment, who knows what would have happened, it could have saved my life. Please do not miss your regular appointments, they are so important.’
Need2Know are also working on several cancer titles for 2010 and 2011.
Breast Cancer – The Essential Guide
Prostate Cancer – The Essential Guide
Skin Cancer and Sun Safety – The Essential Guide
Bowel Cancer - The Essential Guide
We have plans to expand this range of titles in the hope that raising awareness of these preventable diseases will help in the fight against cancer.
