There is a lot of coverage in the media about the quality of school dinners and the growing problem of obesity in young children, so, if you are a parent or working in a childcare environment, how should you ensure that the children in your care receive the most nutritious food for their growing bodies? Children’s Nutrition: A Parent’s Guide gives parents all the information they need to feed their children healthy, delicious, easy-to-prepare meals that don’t cost a fortune. The book explains how a good nutritional start in life will help to ensure long-term health and provides tailored advice for children 0-1 years old, 1-5 years old, 6-10 years old and 11-18 years old. Recipes for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as menus to help support children with specfic health or behavioural issues will also be included. Nutrition is very important for children, but the most nutritious options are not always the most appealing, help give your child a headstart by teaching them to make healthy food choices! A Parents Touch (via Amazon) -
The Need2Know Guides are exceptional resources for parents. The books are written by experts in their field, and contain plenty of practical advice written in a friendly and approachable fashion whilst remaining totally professional in outlook. We are all familiar with the topic of childhood nutrition but much of what we read is sensationalised. We need a sensible, down-to-earth approach and this book is exactly that. It starts with a breakdown of the food children need, and then discusses the requirements of 4 different age groups. Recipes for babies are followed by ideas for breakfasts, lunches and family dinners. All the recipes are straightforward, nutritious and based on easily obtained ingredients. help your child have a healthy start to life with this practical guide.

Paperback (via Amazon) -
This book makes understanding our children's nutritional needs very easy. It is simple and straight forward so, unlike other books that you have to wade through to get to the point, this one will quickly show you how to provide balanced and healthy meals for your children at different stages of their childhood. It helped me immensely with my nine year old, who is a fussy eater, and also with my pre-adolescent daughter (It has amazed me how following the advice in this book has helped with things like her concentration, skin and most importantly those mood swings!). I would definitely recommend this book to any parent wanting to improve their child's diet.
